Description
We Eat Elephants is a course for use by teachers and people working with children aged 5-8 years and 9-12 years such as charities, social services and health care workers such as CAMHS and Child IAPT. The course itself mixes a story-based approach to introduce youngsters to an attractively presented vicious cycle of upset. Together, they learn what makes them feel sad, stressed, angry etc. and consider how they can help the child in the story.
The older group (9-12) builds on this with strategies to relax, tackle problems, identify and respond differently to upsetting thoughts. Multiple resources (colouring sheets, stickers, posters, feelings cards) accompany the teaching resources and can be printed off for use.
The day is aimed at professionals wishing to introduce and maximise their use of the resources, and can be combined with training in using other courses (such as Living Life to the Full for young People – LLTTF-YP for ages 13-18). A mix of learning styles will be included in the day (presentation, discussion, and skills-based practice).
The training aims to enthuse, be fun and help attendees feel they can confidently deliver the course.
This product is to book the training course, the course itself costs £1500 + VAT.
